Writing to NFS server did not work. I have the same problem while diskless booting from karmic. This is now on Karmic obviously. At that point, a reboot is necessary but the machine freezes at shutdown and has be turned off hard.
I was able to write on it only using samba protocol while NFS was causing nautilus to hang and the transfer bar was freezing. USB disconnect, device number 3 [ Atheros Communications Device rev c0. Sometime in the past, probably at some upgrade or other my wired connection stopped functioning.
Download the driver tarball and extract it. This bug was filed against a series that is no longer supported and so is being marked as Won’t Fix. A similar driver installation is spelled at1c in more detail at ubuntuforums. The install commands would be run in the extracted code directory.
